If you have heard just the slightest thing of Barcelona it is that there are soooo many places to go out to. Especially for a date night, if you ask me! Tiny wine bars hidden down side streets, tables spilling onto terraces, restaurants where dinner turns into drinks somewhere else, and places that feel special without trying too hard. There are so many options that choosing where to go is the difficult part. And for me, not every date night needs to mean white tablecloths and a €150 bill. Sometimes you want somewhere intimate and romantic, and other times just a tiny tapas spot where you can order half the menu! This is my running edit of the Barcelona date-night spots that I have tried, and where I would really go back to.

For me it's about being comfortable, about how the place makes me feel. Because honestly, you want to skip the awkwardness during your date that the restaurant is not as you expected, right? Good lighting. Tables where you can actually hear each other. Food you want to share. A room with enough atmosphere that it doesn't feel too quiet, but also not so loud that your date turns into a lip-reading exercise. And, obviously, a good bottle of wine never hurts.

MALPARIT
Lively, fun,
still feels special.
Malparit is lively, a little loud and just really fun. The food is good, the atmosphere is even better, and it still feels special enough for a date night without being too fancy about it.
I came here with my sister and boyfriend, but almost immediately thought: I'd come back here for a date.
