MALPARIT:

DATE NIGHT
DONE RIGHT

If I am honest with you, some restaurants get the food right, others get the atmosphere right. Malparit does both.

My sister came to visit me in Barcelona and I chose Malparit to go to dinner to, with her and my boyfriend. The place had such a good vibe from the start. Fun interiors, a lively atmosphere, but still enough privacy around the table that I'd happily come back for an actual date night.

The service was on point. We sat down and not even a minute later the waiter talked us through the menu, explained the specials, helped with the wine and gave genuinely good recommendations. Everyone was super attentive — maybe slightly too attentive when clearing plates.

Sometimes I'm not finished, I'm just saving that last bit of sauce for my bread haha.

THEN, THE IMPORTANT PART:

THE FOOD.

We started with a beautifully runny tortilla, exactly how I like it, the ensaladilla rusa, which was quite fishy but so tasty, and patatas bravas on the side. The steak tartare was prepared next to us at the table, which kind of added a little show to dinner.

BUT THERE WAS ONE VERY CLEAR WINNER.

ORDER.
THE.
BRIOCHE.

Rabo de toro brioche at Malparit Barcelona

The rabo de toro brioche was ridiculously good. Soft, rich, messy in the best possible way.

If you go, this is the one thing I'm telling you not to skip.

Small secret: I am a veeeery big fan of brioche bread tho.

SAVE ROOM.

Dessert was a crema catalana cheesecake, and honestly, I could have ordered three more.

We paired everything with a bottle of Zuzanita rosé, light, easy and exactly my kind of rosé.

THE DAMAGE€40AROUND · PP FOR US

The best surprise? We spent around €40 per person and left completely full. We didn't choose the more expensive dishes, but that's part of what I liked. You can keep it simple and delicious or go bigger with fish, plancha and grilled meats.

SENNA
SAYS.

Malparit is a restaurant I love recommending. Good food, a lovely atmosphere and the kind of evening that doesn't need to be overly fancy to feel special. For around €40 per person, we ate well, enjoyed a bottle of rosé and left really satisfied.

Would I go back? Absolutely. Especially for a date night when you want somewhere that feels a little special, without spending a fortune.

WOULD I GO BACK?ABSOLUTELY.
